The Angel’s Questions

As you may know, many of the stories I share with you are inspired by my own personal experiences or by my own inspired desires of hope in humanity and the world. This story in particular, is a story based on a personal experience. Around 2015 I spent many days, months in silence, fasting, and in meditation. I lived on Salt Spring Island, BC, Canada in a trailer on an organic farm by the ocean. I had a bald eagles nest above me... and I call these days my Mystic Era. These memories are dear to me, as I believe they have transformed me into the human I am today, through deep conversations with my Guides and in deep communion with Spirit I remembered something profoundly... and this story tells something of profound depth too.
I hope you enjoy it.
I hope it serves you and inspires you!
In love,
Sofia.

The Angel’s Questions

Emma awoke to a bright light filtering into her cabin, soft and golden, as though the sun had decided to rest beside her bed. Blinking, she realized it wasn’t the sun but an Angel, radiant, serene, and utterly otherworldly. Its eyes held galaxies, and its smile was as gentle as the whisper of dawn. If you have ever been visited by an Angel, you know this feeling, of profound peace, love, grace.

The Angel was her Guardian Angel, eventhough this was the first time she actually saw him. She has felt him throughout her whole Life. Beside her, The Angel tilted its head, looking at her with the most loving eyes. “What is it like?” the Angels asked.

Emma blinked, still tired as it was the middle of the night “What is what like?”

“To be human,” the Angel said. “To love, to feel, to breathe. Tell me.”
Emma hesitated but then she was now awake, and this was the first time she was seeing her Guardian Angel, and was asking her a specific question. So she began. “It’s... complicated,” she said. But as the Angel waited patiently, her words began to flow with ease...

“The rush of a first kiss, your heart pounding so loud you think they’ll hear it. It’s the grief of losing someone you love, it feels like the world collapses, yet somehow, you keep breathing. It’s the warmth of the sun on your skin and the taste of saltwater when you dive into the ocean. It’s running barefoot on hot sand and feeling it cool as the waves lap over your toes.

It’s heartbreak, like being shattered into pieces but learning how to put yourself back together... later on discovering your heart can now hold the whole universe. It’s holding yourself for the first time, feeling your heartbeat and knowing your love has no limits. It’s the smell of jasmine on a warm night, the smell of wet soil when it rains after a long draught, or drinking water when your lips are dry, the colors of a sunrise painting hope across the sky. It’s making love and feeling like you’ve dissolved into another soul, only to find yourself more whole than ever. It looking into someone eyes and tell them that you love them for the first time, while your heart is racing.

It is standing your ground and speaking up when you feel hot inside, and yet courageous and strong because you are speaking your truth and setting limits when before you could not. It is saying no to someone that you care about and yet it is the truth. It hugging your sisters after a long period of time of being apart. It is driving with all the windows down, and singing your heart out to your favorite song. It is feeling that your legs are rubber, your heart is about to pop out of your chest, and you might just shit your pants because you are about to take the biggest leap of faith in your whole life, It is about the taste of a fresh strawberry that you grew in your back yard, the smell of soil on your hands... ”

Her voice trembled as memories surfaced. Her grandmother’s laugh. The soft fur of her first dog. The exhilaration of dancing in the rain. She felt it all, the joy, the pain, the wonder. Tears streamed down her face, but they weren’t of sorrow. They were of remembering. Of Pure Grace.

The Angel listened, its gaze steady, its presence warm and patient. When Emma stopped, drained but elated, the Angels smiled.

The Angel spoke “you have been searching for the divine in silence and fasting, as though it is not right here of this world. But the divine has always been here, in your breath, your skin, your tears, and your laughter. This life, Emma, this embodiment—this is the gift.”

Emma stared at the Angel, her heart swelling with understanding. A slow smile spread across her face. “I had forgotten,” she whispered.

The Angel nodded. “And now, you remember.”

Emma rose from her bed, feeling lighter than she had in months. She walked to the door, opened it, and stepped outside. The world seemed brighter, more vibrant, and alive. The sun warmed her skin, the breeze carried the scent of wildflowers, and the ground beneath her feet hummed with life.

  1. In what ways are you hiding from fully embodying your life? Are there moments you’ve disconnected from the richness of being human?

  2. What experiences, sensations, or memories make you feel the miracle of being alive in your body? How can you invite more of that into your daily life?

"The divine is not distant or abstract, it is alive in the heartbeat of your existence, the breath in your lungs, and the love you give and receive. To be embodied is to hold the sacred in every moment of being." Sofia Martinez.
